IELTS General Training measures English language proficiency in a practical, everyday context. It is appropriate for those planning to study in high school or a vocational training program. People migrating to Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK must take the IELTS General Training test. The IELTS test assesses your abilities in listening, reading, writing and speaking. The Listening and Speaking tests are the same for both IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training. However the Reading and Writing tests are different. IELTS General Module is right for those people who want to immigrate, check their level of English, to be accepted to a secondary school. It much easier that Academic module but also any candidate should be acquainted with its structure and characteristics. All needed information is in the chapter IELTS General. The Listening, Reading and Writing sections of all IELTS tests are completed on the same day, with no breaks in between them. The Speaking section, however, can be completed up to a week before or after the other tests. Your test centre will advise. The total test time is 2 hours and 45 minutes.
